Readovo is built so that we know as little about you as possible. In the current version there are no accounts: the reader runs entirely in your browser.
Your books and reading data stay on your device
Books you add, your reading position, bookmarks, highlights, notes, reading time, covers and settings are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. They are not sent to us, and we can’t see them.
Because this data lives only in your browser, clearing the browser’s site data, using a private window, or uninstalling the browser removes it. You can download a backup file at any time from the library menu and restore it later or in another browser.
What our server receives
- Loading the site: like any website, our server receives technical information needed to deliver pages — your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We keep these logs briefly to protect the service from abuse and fix problems.
- Feedback: if you send a message through the feedback form, we receive the message, the email address if you choose to add one, and — only if you tick the box — technical details such as your browser, screen size and number of books (never book contents or titles). We keep feedback to reply and improve Readovo.
- Service status: the status page checks whether our server responds. It sends no personal data.
Cookies and tracking
The current version sets no cookies. We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we never analyze, share or sell what you read. To work offline, your browser keeps a copy of the app’s own files (not your books) in its offline cache.
Coming soon: accounts and cloud storage
We plan to offer optional accounts that sync your reading data between devices, and paid plans that store book files in the cloud. They are not available yet. Before they launch we will update this policy to describe exactly what they store, and they will stay optional — the reader will keep working without them.
Your choices
- Delete any book from the library — its file, position, bookmarks, highlights and notes are removed from this browser.
- Remove everything by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
- Ask us to delete feedback you sent by writing through the feedback form or to the address below.
Children
Readovo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll say so on this page and in the app before the change takes effect.
